Ripon Cathedral, Spring Food & Home Show April 2019.


We were given a great space in the cathedral to hold our bug encounters and workshops.

We were able to bring along a bug display and our Shop With The Bug Lady Stall.

We delivered Mini meet The Bugs Workshops and individual bug encounters during the event.

Stocksbridge Science Club Bug Event Oct.2018

We met over 40 children and their parents at this fantastic event.

We delivered a hands on workshop where everyone was able to get up close to the bugs.

There were lots of other activities alongside ours, including edible bugs to taste, bug quizzes and bug art and craft.

We had a really great time there. From the feedback I think everyone enjoyed meeting the bugs too.

St Gemmas Hospice Summer Fete 2018.

We had a great day meeting visitors and delivering mini workshops in the beautiful shady garden. We are visiting again in 2019. See you there!

Rodley Summer Fete August 2018

We were very lucky to be invited to attend Rodley Summer Fete for the first time this year.

We bought our bug display, and did individual bug encounters throughout the day.Introducing visitors to our collection of bugs.

We also brought my new Shop With The Bug Lady Stall. This proved extremely popular with visitors.​

All items are inspired by nature and include handmade and decorated cards and gifts, new and pre-loved items for all ages at affordable prices.

We will be at this event again in 2019.

Rawdon Fun Day. May 2018

We were invited to attend this event for the first time and were given a space in the Children's Zone marquee.

We brought a small display of bugs and some information about what we do.​

We provided individual bug encounters and mini Meet The Bugs workshops to lots of visitors throughout the day.

We also brought our' Shop With The Bug Lady' stall with a selection of handmade cards and gifts, new, and pre-loved items for all ages.

A visit from some creepy crawlies…

Today, we had some interesting visitors in school. We had a fantastic hands-on experience of holding some

wonderful creatures including giant snails, giant cockroaches and stick insects.

The Infant and Reception children have had a great themed day all about Mini-beasts.

We have read facts about a range of Mini-beasts, made factual posters, used symmetry

to make symmetrical butterflies. Then this afternoon we had a visit from Lisa the Bug Lady!

She showed us cockroaches, stick insects and giant land snails!! We even got to hold some of

them too. The children asked and answered lots of questions and were extremely well behaved.

'Fear In The Forest!'

Our Halloween themed display included the chance to view a few of our bug species.

Stan The Bug Man volunteered to help out at this busy event. He's holding female McLeay's Spectre and Borneo Thorny stick insects. Visitors had opportunity to meet and stroke these during one of our individual Bug Encounters.

We were located within the Visitor Centre. Visitors came to our stand on a drop-in basis in between participating in arts and crafts and scary walks in the forest!
